is still on the loose this morning. san francisco police say think all began when officers tried to make a traffic stop for a light that was out on the license plate on the car. something very simple but it ended with this dangerous crash and the shooting and the sergeant we talked to says he feels lucky no officers were hurt. >> no one else was seriously hurt. the only injury i know of at this point is a hurt hand. given all things that could have gone wrong, i think this is pretty good. >> reporter: so san francisco police still out here investigating this morning. one interesting thing you can see sort of how violent this crash was. we saw a police officer who was carrying off the top of a parking meter. it was sheered off as a result of this accident this morning. police believe they have arrested the passenger inside this car. they are still looking for the driver of the car and at this point it's unclear why they ran from police this morning. the only thing the sergeant could come up with because they had a gun inside the car. live this morning in san francisco alex savidge ktvu ch

lane. >>> developing news out of san francisco. early morning chase and shooting and crash, left busy intersection closed. amy hollyfield is live in the western addition to tell us what happened. >> reporter: it ended here at franklin with a crash quite a reaction to police just trying to pull a white car over because officers say the light on the plate was out. the guys took off. there was a high speed chase then a crash when the car ran a red light at franklin and eddie. the white car crash food a taxicab. before they crashed police say the passenger was firing shots at the police officers. once the crash happened the two men took off, running. officers ran after them. they were able to catch one the shooter. the driver did get away. they are still looking for one man. police officers were okay, none hurt. the taxi driver was taken to the hospital. he has an injured hand. he's going to be fine. police say given how fast the guys were going it is amazing there weren't more injuries and the injuries weren't more serious. the investigators are here taking a look at the scene trying to

double shooting in san francisco. and the giants are waking up in detroit this morning, hoping to add to their two games to nothing lead in the world series. we will have a report on all that orange and black everywhere in the city by the bay. good morning, i'm terry mcsweeney. before we get to the giants let's talk about the fantastic weather. here's lisa argen. >> good morning, terry. we are talking about the last weekend in october feeling more like summer because temperatures continue to warm under a ridge of high pressure. a live look outside from our roof camera. it's a beautiful start with clear conditions. maybe a patch or two of fog at the coast. and temperatures range from about 49 to 57. so we are warmer this morning and by this afternoon we will be in the mid-60s from half moon bay to about 80 today in concord. so plenty of 70s around the bay and by the evening hours still quite pleasant with lower 70s to the mid-60s. the forecast is going to last for the entirety of the weekend, but then subtle changes monday. we have rain back in the forecast just in time for the

will tell you more. right now frustrating traffic closures and delays this weekend in san francisco thanks to numerous events from fleet week to america's cup prelims. >> amy hollyfield is live along the embarcadero with a look ahead. one busy spot. >> reporter: it is going to be interesting. this is going to be a tough spot because the crowds will be thick. there's a nice wide sidewalk here but they expect this to be packed with pedestrians. so, where to put the bicyclists? city officials are going to try a novel idea. northbound lane on the embarcadero closed down, just for bicyclists. they think it is good because they want to keep them often sidewalk away from the pedestrians. there are -- there are signs around the embarcadero flashing now warning people of how crowded it is going to be. the plan for the bicyclists has not been widely publicized this is a new idea. they are going to shutdown a lane between bay and washington starting tomorrow. really, the message is, just don't even try to drive a car down here on the embarcadero this weekend. the elite flight team will take to the sk
